![]() Playing on PC, there were an abundance of glitches and server-related crashes during my time with the game. The game suffers from some pretty harsh server issues. Playing online is some of the best stuff that you can do in Riders Republic… when it works. Players can go online and participate in races with large lobbies, or go against their friends privately. The true selling point behind Riders republic is its social aspect. It’s everything great about the game coming together at once in a challenging and exciting way. You may start on a bicycle, and then jump off of a ramp and then change into a wingsuit, and then finish the race on a snowboard. My favorite event in the game is the triathlon-style race, in which players switch between different sports over the course of one race. It’s very arcade-like, and I got a lot of enjoyment out of just trying to beat my personal record or finish ahead of my friends. There’s standard races, time trials, head-to-head challenges, and plenty more. Within each sport, there’s also a lot of different event types to jump into. ![]() My brother is far better than me with the jet-powered wingsuit, and usually won with ease while I was missing checkpoints and flying into trees. I’m really good with the bicycle, and usually finished in first when playing with my friends. Each sport has its own unique feel, as well as its own control set for different tricks and maneuvers.īecause of this, it’s cool seeing how skills translate to different events. One of my biggest concerns going in was that the different sports would feel half-baked and too similar, but that’s far from the case in Riders Republic. Going from riding a bike down a dirt path on the side of a mountain to skiing down icy hills feels entirely different. One of the things that I immediately appreciated about Riders Republic was how unique and authentic all of the different sports felt. Players will need to master them all in order to be one of the best. To do so, you’ll participate in a plethora of sporting activities from Bicycling, to skiing, snowboarding, wingsuiting, and more. In Riders Republic, players take on the role of an up and coming extreme sports athlete, looking to get out there and make a name for themself. Riders Republic delivers an excellent extreme sports experience that’s often bogged down by server issues and multiplayer frustrations. It’s why Riders Republic caught my attention. The ones that let you pull off wildly unrealistic but hilariously fun tricks with friends and maybe even some random players online. It’ll be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and Google Stadia. It feels like we don’t get many of the wacky extreme sports games that were so prevalent throughout the 90s and 2000s anymore. The full game of Riders Republic launches on October 28. You can sign up for the Mad Challenge over here. There’s also copies of the Gold Edition of the game up for grabs for runners up. Players who finish in the top 10 in a Mass Race will be entered into a draw to win a custom Canyon x Riders Republic bike and a Gold Edition of the game. To sweeten the deal, a Mad Challenge will also be happening during the Riders Republic Trial Week. In the full game, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 owners get to play these with more than 50 players. ![]() There’ll be three capped at 32 players with cross-play enabled between current and new gen consoles. In addition, there’s also the game’s signature Mass Race mode with a twist for the Trial Week. Some of these modes include the 6v6 Tricks Battle, the 11 player Free For All and the Versus Mode. The Trial Week will include all five career progressions and multiplayer modes too. Any progression made during the Trial Week will carry over to the full game too, so you can pick right up where you left off on launch day. Running from October 21 through until October 27, players will be able to play four hours of the game completely free. Ubisoft has announced that extreme sports playground Riders Republic will allow players to get a taste of the game in a free Trial Week just before launch. ![]()
